Product Description

Product Description

Titanium dioxide (or titanium dioxide) is widely used in various structural surface coatings, paper coatings and fillers, plastics and elastomers. Other uses include ceramics, glass, catalysts, coated fabrics, printing inks, roofing granules and fluxes. Among them, the coating industry accounts for 58%, the plastics industry accounts for 23%, papermaking 10%, and others 9%. Titanium dioxide can be produced from ilmenite, rutile or titanium slag

Titanium dioxide is an important inorganic chemical pigment whose main component is titanium dioxide. There are two production processes for titanium dioxide: sulfuric acid method and chlorination method. [1] It has important uses in industries such as coatings, inks, papermaking, plastics and rubber, chemical fibers, and ceramics.

The main application areas of titanium dioxide are: coatings, plastics, inks, papermaking, of which coatings account for 60%, plastics account for 20%, papermaking accounts for 14%, and others (including cosmetics, chemical fibers, electronics, ceramics, enamel, welding rods, alloys, glass, etc. field) accounted for 6%.
Titanium dioxide is used as a colorant in the rubber industry and has reinforcing, anti-aging and filling functions. Adding titanium dioxide to white and colored rubber products makes them resistant to sunlight, no cracking, no discoloration, high elongation, and acid and alkali resistance under sunlight. Titanium dioxide for rubber is mainly used in automobile tires, rubber shoes, rubber floors, gloves, sports equipment, etc., and is generally anatase type. However, when used in automobile tire production, a certain amount of rutile products are often added to enhance ozone and ultraviolet resistance.
Titanium dioxide is also increasingly used in cosmetics. Since titanium dioxide is non-toxic and far superior to lead white, titanium dioxide is used in almost all kinds of fragrance powders to replace lead white and zinc white. Just add 5%-8% titanium dioxide to the fragrance powder to obtain a permanent white color, making the fragrance smoother, with adhesion, absorption and covering power. In gouache and cold cream, titanium dioxide can reduce the greasy and transparent feeling. Titanium dioxide can also be used in various other fragrances, sunscreens, soap flakes, white soaps and toothpastes.
1. Cosmetic grade titanium dioxide is divided into oily and water-based titanium dioxide. Because of its stable chemical properties, high refractive index, high opacity, high covering power, good whiteness, and non-toxicity, it is widely used in the field of cosmetics for beauty and whitening effects.
1Performance features:
1.
High whiteness and strong covering power.
2.
Hydrophilic and lipophilic products overcome the shortcomings of ordinary titanium dioxide, such as difficulty in dispersion and easy precipitation in their respective dispersion systems, and significantly improve its dispersion and anti-precipitation properties, making your products more stable and satisfactory.
3.
Highly weather resistant.
4.
Good compatibility with other cosmetic raw materials.
2Purpose
Titanium dioxide is considered to be the best-performing white pigment in the world and is widely used in coatings, plastics, papermaking, printing ink, chemical fiber, rubber, cosmetics and other industries.
Titanium dioxide (titanium dioxide) has stable chemical properties and does not react with most substances under normal circumstances. There are three types of crystals of titanium dioxide in nature: plate titanium, anatase and rutile. The plate titanium type is an unstable crystal form and has no industrial value. The anatase type is referred to as type A, and the rutile type (rutile) is referred to as type R. Both have stable crystal lattice and are important white pigments and porcelain glazes. Compared with other white pigments, it has superior whiteness, tinting power, hiding power, weather resistance, heat resistance, and chemical stability, especially no toxicity.
Titanium dioxide is widely used in coatings, plastics, rubber, ink, paper, chemical fiber, ceramics, daily chemicals, medicine, food and other industries.
The coating industry is the largest user of titanium dioxide, especially rutile titanium dioxide, most of which is consumed by the coating industry. Coatings made of titanium dioxide have bright colors, high hiding power, strong tinting power, low dosage, and many varieties. They can protect the stability of the medium, enhance the mechanical strength and adhesion of the paint film, and prevent cracks. Prevent ultraviolet rays and moisture from penetrating and extend the life of the paint film.
The plastics industry is the second largest user. Adding titanium dioxide to plastics can improve the heat resistance, light resistance, and weather resistance of plastic products, improve the physical and chemical properties of plastic products, enhance the mechanical strength of the products, and extend the service life.
The papermaking industry is the third largest user of titanium dioxide. As a paper filler, it is mainly used in high-grade paper and thin paper. Adding titanium dioxide to paper can make the paper have better whiteness, good gloss, high strength, thin and smooth, no penetration during printing, and light weight. Titanium dioxide for papermaking generally uses anatase titanium dioxide without surface treatment, which can act as a fluorescent whitening agent and increase the whiteness of the paper. However, laminated paper requires the use of surface-treated rutile titanium dioxide to meet the requirements of light resistance and heat resistance.
Titanium dioxide is also an indispensable white pigment in advanced inks. Inks containing titanium dioxide are durable and do not discolor, have good surface wettability and are easy to disperse. Titanium dioxide used in the ink industry has rutile type and anatase type.
The textile and chemical fiber industry is another important application area of titanium dioxide. Titanium dioxide for chemical fibers is mainly used as a matting agent. Since the anatase type is softer than the gold-red type, the anatase type is generally used. Titanium dioxide for chemical fibers generally does not require surface treatment, but some special varieties require surface treatment in order to reduce the photochemical effect of titanium dioxide and avoid fiber degradation under the photocatalysis of titanium dioxide.
The enamel industry is an important application field of titanium dioxide. Enamel-grade titanium dioxide has high purity, good whiteness, bright color, uniform particle size, strong refractive index and high achromatic power, and has strong opacification and Opacity makes the coating thin, smooth and acid-resistant after enamel application. In the enamel manufacturing process, it can be mixed evenly with other materials, does not agglomerate, and is easy to melt.
The ceramic industry is also an important application field of titanium dioxide. Ceramic-grade titanium dioxide has the characteristics of high purity, uniform particle size, high refractive index, excellent high temperature resistance, and the ability to remain non-greying for 1 hour under high temperature conditions of 1200°C. It has high opacity, thin coating and light weight, and is widely used in ceramics, construction, decoration and other materials.
